Scolopendra - Interview + Audio Streaming (Progressive Rock) (México)

Apresento aos amigos e visitantes do blog uma nova banda que se formou na cidade de Pachuca, Hidalgo, no México, e que acaba de lançar o seu primeiro disco de estréia chamado ''Cero''. 

O grupo é formado por dois amigos que um dia tiveram um sonho de montar uma banda, e esse sonho se transformou em uma bela realidade, que pode ser ouvida e apreciada por todos no vídeo oficial que a banda divulgou em seu canal na página do you tube.

O ''Scolopendra'' é uma dupla formada por ''Josmarq Alvarado'' (Composition, vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, flutes, percussions and programming), e ''Sojue Stradac'' (Composition, Letters, vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, flutes, percussions and programming).

Tomei conhecimento da banda no programa ''Progressive Rock Around the World'' do meu amigo ''Carlos Vaz'' na web rádio ''RST Rádio Rock'', quando o disco foi tocado de forma integral, com a presença do músico Sojue Stradac no chat da rádio conversando com os ouvintes.

Logo após ele entrou em contato comigo pela página do Facebook, onde eu o adicionei como amigo, conversamos, e dei a idéia de fazer uma entrevista com a banda, exatamente para divulgar o seu trabalho de forma mais abrangente aqui no Brasil, e dando oportunidade aos visitantes do blog (brasileiros e de outros países)  de conhecerem um grande disco de Rock Progressivo lançado em 2015.

Bárbaro do Sul - Tell me a little about the beginning of the band and as was formed?

Scolopendra - Greeting musical brothers of the blog Barbaro Do Sul!!! Scolopendra was a dream of two music students. The concept was born in 2012. We formed the band in 2013 officially, in 2014 produced the album CERO, which was published recently.

Bárbaro do Sul - This is the first work of Scolopendra, or are there any other material released?

Scolopendra - That's right, CERO is our debut album. By training for the album we had to record the instruments, by training for the album we had to record all instruments for 1 year and a half. It was very hard work which was also made to produce among us. We are now focused on the composition of the second album and looking this work reach other places this conceptual musical.

Bárbaro do Sul - Is your disc conceptual containing one and long song. Tell me a little bit of history that is counted in this great range?

Scolopendra - All right. CERO is a large suite we try to control musically, giving a large structure, accompanied by a concept that was emerging slowly, an idea that somehow we influenced the year 2012, do not look as such the theme of Cataclysm, arose and gave the thing. The conceptual idea that we have taken out because we just love all this, the long histories, well treated musical idea developed.

Bárbaro do Sul - What is the meaning of the name of the group, and for which reasons he was chosen?

Scolopendra - Scolopendra is an animal that dare to describe as a giant centipede, we like. For our musical tastes maybe, many bands of the 70's dared to have such big names or complex, perhaps influence, the rhythm of the word seduced us, later we find some signs more in a book Jules Verne, and an album of Gli Alluminogeni.

Bárbaro do Sul - In the current music scene in your country there is space for which the sound that you do have acceptance among the current generation? In the case, there is a scenario for the Progressive Rock in Mexico?

Scolopendra - Progressive scenario are present and continue to resist, by the taste for this music around Mexico, now live musical ideas from all over the world, fortunately there for everyone and the progressive scene of Mexico is living a musical resurgence very interesting, that only needs the support given to other more digestible musical genres. For any band that begins the scenario it is difficult because we live currently a glut of music and information, supporting spaces are counted if any. Many progressive friends!!

Bárbaro do Sul - What is the current training of band and what is the average age of each musician?

Scolopendra - Currently Scolopendra is a duo formed by Josmarq Alvarado and Sojue Stradac, our age 30 and 29 years. Scolopendra is a band that started their walk with this production CERO, many things come forward and we must continue working, constantly looking to open more places for this proposal, this concept. Live concept is presented playing various instruments and sequencing, several behind Scolopendra friends who help us with photography, video, design, body language to which we sent them a greeting: Carlos Donato, Amneris Alarcón, Valeria Hernandez, Paulino Monroy !

Bárbaro do Sul - What are the musical influences of you, both of musical styles, as bands?

Scolopendra - Mainly progressive rock of the 70s, specifically the Italian which we have seen highly influenced us. Academic or Classical Music, Mexican Rock, Metal, some other proposals of the world that is not necessarily progressive. We cite as influences to Italian groups, English, Latin American symphonic progressive side. Our favourites bands Premiata Forneria Marconi, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso.

Bárbaro do Sul - What are the goals and objectives you hope to achieve with the launch of this work?

Scolopendra - This year we want to take as many possible places in our country, we seek to reach more countries also bring music to more places, we hope this year also come to record the second album.
